Seen for My Potential, Not My Past
Conquest has been nothing short of life-changing for me. After returning home from three years of incarceration, burdened by multiple felony convictions and the stigma that comes with them, I faced a world that felt closed off and unforgiving.
With five years of hard-earned sobriety following a decade of battling addiction, I was determined not to fall back into the life that nearly destroyed me. But the barriers were everywhere—jobs, housing, support—until I found Conquest. This nonprofit saw my potential, not just my past. They offered me more than a job; they gave me purpose, dignity, and a reason to keep pushing forward. They have supported me the entire 2 years I’ve been involved in the program. And, through stable employment, mentorship, and access to resources I didn’t even know I needed, I began rebuilding my life with confidence.
The staff treated me with respect and genuine care, reminding me daily that I was not alone in my journey. Conquest didn’t just help me survive after incarceration—they gave me the tools, the structure, and the belief to thrive. Now, I stand as a proud example of what’s possible with the right support, and I owe so much of that to Conquest.
